Fine interview. And I was pleased to see that your choice of favourite books 
in each period corresponds pretty closely to mine; obviously impeccable 
taste.

One of the problems with the TV shows that I saw - and I don't have an 
expert knowledge of all of them by any means - was that the character of the 
Saint had to be softened so much. He couldn't meet a corrupt financier of 
the day and shoot him as he does from time to time in the books, for 
example.
