Frankly I think Hugh Grant is the worst possible choice imaginable to
play The Saint. The role calls for someone who can play suave and
sophisticated, preferably with a mid Atlantic accent, but who can also
act ruthless and tough, which would rule out Hugh Grant. And by the time
this film gets off the ground, if it ever does, he will be too old.  I
would also prefer an unknown or little known actor to play the role. A
well known actor carries too much baggage and his personality would end
up on the screen, not the personality of ST.
