[Theepistle] The Plot

The trouble with being brought up on the books is that we all have our set ideas as to what ST should be about. Even LC took a long time in selling the rights knowing that his creation would be altered. He was right and although the early series tried to follow the stories by putting them in a modern (1962) setting compared with the stories that were written they did not stand up. However if you were new to ST then the stories were exciting modern and in my case led me to the books which were much much better.

Maybe it is time for a new ST. As for working for a secret agency well Simon spent WW2 working for Hamilton. If memory serves me well in She was a Lady he was working for the Police until he suddenly resigned half way through.

Try not to compare that what was written with that on TV. Provided the stories are good and entertaining then they will be worth watching and who knows maybe someone will then take up the great responsibility of writing page turning adventures in the style and spirit of LC. Any volunteers?
