The website "Crackle" recently uploaded an unexpected and (for me) delightful surprise: the "Matt Helm" tv series from the mid-70s. It only lasted 14 episodes on ABC, and was cancelled. I was (apparently) one of the few who watched it. I was a teenager at the time. The only reason I watched it at all was its star: the late, great, and sadly all-but-forgotten, Tony Franciosa. I had seen him in another great ( but cancelled after 1 season) series called "Search" on NBC, also in the early 70s. Watching these "Matt Helm" episodes, I had forgotten how good Franciosa was, having not seen him in so long. He was tall, handsome, suave, charming, and a bit of a rogue on-screen. I think he would have made a great Simon Templar, refined New York accent, and all.
